"We decided to rehearse away from the industrial unit hell of Mr Grin for a change and went to Koh San, next to the River Avon in Bath. We wrote this along with King Of July and Nowheresville all on the same day. I saw this chord in a freebie music mag that was supposed to be a psychedelic Beatles chord or something. I had a job playing it properly and in the process came out with the arpeggio riff that runs through the song. The words are obvious - it's the memoirs of a paid-up member of the Bastard Club!" |
